Fatehpur Sikri

About 1 hour's drive west from Agra is Fatehpur Sikri.  A wonderful walled city complex built in 1569, once again by Akhbar the Great (I think he was the Ramses II of his day).  Apparently at that time more people lived here than in London.

I suppose the buildings aren't that old, but I was surprised just how well they have survived; clean brickwork and very few signs of erosion etc.

'Fat'ehpur is a very apt name.

As usual the ladies keep the place beautifully clean.

These girls were managing to make a game out of grass collecting.  Like millions of children in India, helping parents is expected and at least it isn't picking through rubbish on a giant city tip.

I wonder what age you have to be to master this.  I couldn't even work out at first which way she was moving but having looked at the feet, it's away from me.

Now we have a 5 hour drive to the Ranthambore National Park where we stay for 2 nights and hopefully see tigers!!!!!!!!!!
